Well Checks

Well checks are the backbone of preventative medicine. Well checks establish baseline information on your child so that later we can quickly spot anything unusual. It’s also our chance to regularly discuss your child’s health progress and address educational needs. A typical well check begins with a thorough examination, and addresses:

  • Any concerns the parents might have
  • Developmental milestones and achievement
  • Dietary and nutrition issues
  • Sleep, social and psychological concerns
  • Health concerns specific to the age of the child, such as bullying, dental care, sun screen, school pressures, responsibility and safety
  • Immunizations
  • Growth and weight concerns
  • Appropriate screenings (cholesterol, hemoglobin, urinalysis, vision and hearing, etc.)
  • Autism screening
  • Specific adolescent issues such as, bullying, obesity, sleep problems, depression, and risky behavior.
