Warrenton Pediatrics Policies

For your first visit please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your appointment time to allow for an efficient and timely check-in. Please provide us with a photo id, insurance card and your child’s past medical history including immunization records.

Referrals/Authorizations

If you are in need of a managed care authorization or referral, please call our referral request line at (540) 349-3225. Please allow a minimum of 2 business days to process your request and receive confirmation from your insurance carrier. Please be prepared with the specialist’s name, your child’s current diagnosis or symptoms and the date you plan to visit the specialist.

Medical Records

We are happy to provide copies of immunization records as needed. However, for complete record requests there is a nominal fee. Your child’s medical records are available in hardcopy or on disc. Please call our medical records line at (540) 349-3225 for more information.

Prescription refills

Please contact your pharmacy with your prescription number when you are in need of refills. We prefer to prescribe and refill all medications electronically. This promotes efficiency and safety for our patients. Some controlled medications must be hand written and require an original signature from the physician, such as medications for ADHD. Please call our medication refill line at (540) 349- 3225 to leave your request. Please allow at least 2 business days for these prescriptions to be written by the physician. Photo identification will be required to pick up these prescriptions. Federal regulations state they may only be released to the parents or legal guardian on file with our office.

Physical forms/Sports Forms/Camp Forms

We happily complete forms on the same day if they are brought to the well check. Please allow additional time for these forms to be completed if they are dropped off without a coinciding appointment.

Late Arrival

If you arrive late for your appointment we will try to accommodate you with the first available appointment and physician. It may be necessary to reschedule your appointment for another day.
