Meet the Warrenton Pediatrics Physicians |
Michael S. Amster, MD, FAAP
Dr. Amster received his BS degree in Biology from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL), graduating with distinction in 1994. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine in 1999. He holds advanced certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Doctor Mike enjoys sharing his expertise with the community through teaching. He is a regular guest speaker with Fauquier Hospital’s community outreach series, where he enjoys teaching classes in baby care essentials and lecturing on topics such as “home alone” safety. Since 2011 he also has served as an affiliate clinical faculty member at Shenandoah University in Winchester. Known to his little patients as “Doctor Hamster,” he loves to engage children with his knack for teaching, and participates with Fauquier Hospital’s bi-annual “KidSafe” health and fitness day. He also shares his professional skills as a member of the Quality Control and Peer Review Committees at Fauquier Hospital, and as a physician-member of the Fauquier County Public School Health Advisory Board. Dr. Amster is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Fauquier County Medical Society, American Medical Association, and a state board member for the Medical Society of Virginia. Alexander M. Eisen, DO
Dr. Eisen received his BS degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park (1996). He then spent several years as a fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he co-authored multiple publications, and conducting research at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. He also holds advanced certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Aside from his duties with Warrenton Pediatrics, Dr. Eisen has served as an independent pediatrics consultant at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital (Fairfax, VA) since 2008, regularly attending high-risk deliveries and covering the Level II NICU. At Warrenton Pediatrics, Dr. Eisen has a particular interest in asthma, autism screening and ADHD. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise as a regular medical writer for several Northern Virginia parenting publications. |

Dr. Michael Amster founded Warrenton Pediatrics in 2006 after practicing for four years at Union Mill Pediatrics in Centerville, VA. While there, he also served as the practice’s HIPAA officer and billing supervisor. He is Board Certified in pediatrics (2002).
Dr. Alexander Eisen joined Warrenton Pediatrics in 2010 after three years of practice at Union Mill Pediatrics in Centreville, VA. It was there that he met Dr. Amster, and the two developed a friendship based on similar practice styles and philosophies.
