Modern Care with an Old-Fashioned Feel

Warrenton Pediatrics was founded in 2006 by Dr. Michael Amster, a physician at a large medical practice in Centreville, VA who dreamed of a slower, easier pace that would give him more time for his patients.

“Northern Virginia can be so fast paced sometimes. I longed for a medical practice where I could really get to know my patients personally, and feel like I was a part of their family,” he says. “I guess I still have old-fashioned ideals. With so many societal challenges to personal care, I still think medicine should have that small town approach”. When Dr. Amster discovered Warrenton, it immediately reminded him of his small hometown just outside of Chicago, Illinois. He opened his own practice there and has been serving patients with his brand of competence and compassion, and enjoying getting to know them like friends.

As the practice grew, Dr. Alexander Eisen, a like-minded pediatrician with the same ideals, joined the team. Together with their hand-picked, quality nurses and office staff, Warrenton Pediatrics works hard to earn the right to become immersed in the lives of their patients and families – not just in medicine, but beyond.

“I love it when kids see me walking with my own kids down Main Street,” Dr. Amster says. “They shout, ‘Hi, Doctor Hamster,’ and they giggle and wave. I enjoy chatting with them outside of the office. That’s what we aim for here – that personal connection.”
